Unlock'21

UNLOCK'21 was a site-specific participatory project in times of lockdown in Berlin. Starting from the desire to create a space for exchange and encounters despite contact restrictions, we have built a platform for young people to meet and become active together.

From March 2021 - June 2021 the dancers met once a week to move and create together. They have developed ideas and perspectives together, in a time that was characterized by isolation, a lack of contact and of perspectives. By doing so, they have found an artistic expression for their experiences and regained some of their freedom for action.

The rehearsals were prepared and accompanied by Johanna and Camilla and consisted of tandem work outdoors, movement scavenger hunts, online sessions between Athens-Budapest-Berlin. Always trying to find space for expansion inside restrictions, with plenty of room for own ideas. The project was concluded with a public, site-specific live performance outdoors.
